The BSmart™ is the first objective injection monitor for use in regional anesthesia. The BSmart™ allows clinicians to quantify the injection pressure information without sacrificing the traditional “hand feel” technique. Injection pressure information provided by BSmart™ can be used to avoid injections into poorly compliant tissue and to objectively document the nerve block injection procedure.
Objective pressure monitoring helps standardize nerve block injections regardless of who performs the actual injection.
Accidental injection of local anesthetic into a peripheral nerve can result in permanent nerve injury.
Intraneural injections typically result in higher injection pressures (>20 psi) then normal (perineural) injections. The BSmart™ device provides a simple and easy-to-use method for measuring the injection pressures. The BSmart™ device connects quickly and easily between the syringe and the needle, and provides a visual reading of pressure throughout the injection (White = 1-15 psi, Yellow = 15-20 psi, Orange > 20 psi.)
The lightweight and easy to use BSmart™ has been designed to provide significant clinical information at a fantastic value.
